1. WPP Bags Largest Global Chunk of Unilever’s Account, Mindshare Retains in India

WPP has bagged most of Unilever’s media accounts with incumbent Mindshare retaining the accounts in India, North America, UK, Indonesia and China. As per campaign Asia, more than $3 billion worth of business was up for grabs, making it the biggest media pitch of the year. Part of the brief was to centralize Unilever’s entire media business, inclusive of data, analytics, planning, buying and social, under a single agency in a given market. Other companies that won the company’s accounts across the world are Omnicom’s PHD (Austria, Germany and Switzerland, Canada, North Africa, the Middle East and Turkey), and Havas Media (France).

2. Microsoft Enters Strategic Alliance with Oyo

Microsoft has entered a multi-year strategic alliance with Oyo to co-develop ‘next-generation’ travel and hospitality products and tech. As per TechCrunch, Microsoft confirmed that it has also made a strategic equity investment in Oyo. Oyo will switch to Microsoft Azure for its cloud-based needs and co-develop solutions with the tech firm.

Sridhar Ramasubramanian who took charge as the Chief Financial Officer of Publicis Groupe, South Asia in March 2020, has stepped down. Before joining Publicis Groupe, Ramasubramanian worked with GroupM as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for GroupM, South Asia. As per exchange4media, Ramasubramanian is continuing his association with the Groupe as an Advisor.

4. Genesis BCW Appoints Arijit De as Chief Client Officer

Genesis BCW has appointed Arijit De as chief client officer, as per campaign India. Prior to this he was chief communications officer at Reliance Capital. At Genesis BCW, De will provide clients with strategic communications counsel across messaging, stakeholder insights, organisational change, and issues and crises.

Piramal Realty has roped in Rahul Dravid as a brand ambassador for its portfolio of residential projects. As part of this association, Dravid will convey the brand’s key values to customers, sharing the importance of home ownership. As noted by The Economic Times, the new association will comprise a 360-degree marketing campaign, including print, digital, outdoor, and social media.
