1. Godrej Consumer Products To Drop The Word “Fair” From Its Soap Range

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) will drop the word “fair” from its range of soaps, amid consumer complaints over racial stereotyping and calls for more inclusive products. As reported by livemint, GCPL sells the FairGlow brand of soap under its hygiene category that includes soaps, hand washes and wipes. In June, Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) dropped the word “fair” from its over four-decade-old beauty brand, Fair & Lovely. Fair & Lovely was re-branded as Glow and Lovely in July.

2. Facebook To Roll Out Facebook News In India

Facebook is set to roll out Facebook News, its dedicated tab for curated news content, to five key markets including India, the UK, Germany, France and Brazil over the next “six months to a year”. As per campaign India, Facebook News was launched in the US at the end of last year. It is designed to ensure users have access to quality news sources that are free from misinformation and fake news that has plagued the platform in recent years. Publishers need to register as news pages and follow the company’s publisher guidelines and community standards, which means they are forbidden from posting misinformation.


3. ShareChat Inks Licensing Deal With T-series  


ShareChat has partnered with T-Series to license its music catalogue on the platforms. The collaboration is aimed at providing an enhanced experience on ShareChat and short video platform Moj. According to afaqs, over 180 million active users on ShareChat and Moj would now be able to explore thousands of songs from the T-Series music library, and add to their own videos.

4. INCA Ropes In Sophia, The Robot, As Influencer Partner


INCA, GroupM’s influencer marketing solution, has struck a partnership with Hanson Robotics, creator of humanoid robot, Sophia, to make her available as an influencer partner to brands in the APAC region. As noted by exchange4media, the collaboration marks Sophia’s first-ever ambassadorship work with an agency. She now joins INCA’s global network of content creators and influencers to help brands create influential content that brings brand stories to life.
