1. Dentsu Group To Cut Overall Costs By 7% This Year

Dentsu Group has reported a 0.4% decline in revenue and a 0.8% slip in organic revenue for the first quarter. As a result, the group announced that it plans to cut overall costs by 7% this year. This includes non-essential travel and discretionary spending, temporary salary reductions and pausing all M&A activity until at least the end of Q2. As per Campaign India, there will be no employee reductions as part of these cost-saving efforts. The company earlier withdrew its financial guidance for fiscal 2020, announced in February, due to the level of uncertainty stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

2. Google Considering Buying Stake In Vodafone Idea

Google is reportedly considering an investment in Vodafone Idea, according to India Today. The move is predicted to pit Google against Facebook contesting for the Indian mobile market. Reports suggest that the search engine giant is planning to acquire a 5% stake in Vodafone Idea, which is a partnership between the UK-based telecom company and the Aditya Birla Group.

3. Games24x7 Awards Integrate Media Mandate To Essence

Games24x7 has awarded its integrated media mandate to Essence, as reported by exchange4media. The agency’s Mumbai office will handle the mandate which includes media planning, media activation and content innovation for all of Games24x7’s gaming platforms. The company’s portfolio consists of RummyCircle, My11Circle and Ultimate Games. 

4. Network18 Announces 10% Pay Cut

Network 18 has announced a 10% pay cut for those earning above Rs 7.5 lakh annually, as noted by exchange4media. In an internal mail, Editor-in-Chief, Rahul Joshi, stated that the top leadership of the company, has volunteered to take deeper cuts. The mail also said that the appraisal process is on and will conclude in a week or so.
