1. PepsiCo Hires Key Marketing Roles
PepsiCo has appointed Jane Wakely as its executive VP, chief consumer and marketing officer and chief growth officer, international foods. The company has also promoted CCO Ram Krishnan to CEO, international beverages and CCO. In her new role, Wakely will focus on driving accelerated growth by elevating PepsiCo’s consumer-centricity, innovation, brand and marketing capabilities while Krishnan will focus on driving accelerated growth for the International Beverages business, including PepsiCo’s international franchise bottlers, with an end-to-end focus on brand-building, innovation, supply chain, digitalisation, talent and sustainability.

2. Netflix Launches Website to Share Viewership Data
Netflix has launched a new website top10.netflix.com to share viewership data on shows and movies. This includes its originals as well as licensed studios. Afaqs reports that the website not only lists the top 10 shows and movies in English and non-English globally but lets you see the list on a country-wise basis too. Netflix will update the lists every Tuesday.

3. Google Rolls Out New Features for Google Pay
Google will roll out support for Hinglish, a mix of Hindi and English, and a range of additional features to its payments app Google Pay in India as it makes further push to expand its reach in the South Asian market. The firm will also ship a feature later this year that will allow users to easily split an expense with friends and family. As per TechCrunch, users will also be able to soon fill details such as bank account information for merchant payments with voice.

4. YouTube Announces Shoppable Livestreams
YouTube has announced that from November 15-22, it will be hosting what it calls the ‘YouTube Holiday Stream and Shop’, a week of shoppable livestreams hosted by notable creators. In a blog post, it mentions that there has been marked growth of live, with over half a million channels live streaming for the first time in 2020. During these livestreams, users, would have the opportunity to interact with creators and other fans, give feedback, enjoy exclusive discounts and products.

5. Outbrain Appoints Yury Glikin as Head of Sales, APAC
Ad-tech company Outbrain has appointed Yury Glikin as Head of Sales for its APAC team. This recent appointment in the region is coming at a crucial time for Outbrain as it recently expanded its APAC footprint. As part of his new role, Glikin will drive strategic commercial and programmatic direction, and deepen industry knowledge of native advertising in APAC.
