1. Meta fires over 13% of its workforce
Facebook’s parent company Meta has fired more than 11,000 employees. The company is taking steps towards cutting costs after recording a rise in overall costs of the company in the past quarter.

2. Neeraj Chopra is the ‘Friendship Ambassador’ of Switzerland
Switzerland Tourism has appointed Olympic Gold medalist Neeraj Chopra as the ‘Friendship Ambassador’. In his new role, the talented Indian sports superstar will showcase and promote the adventurous, sporty, and stunning outdoors of Switzerland to Indian travellers.

3. Disney+ Hotstar paid subscriber base up 42%
In its Q4 earnings presentation, Walt Disney declared that Disney+ Hotstar’s paid subscriber base has swelled to 61.3 million compared to 43.3 million in the same period last year.

4. Kishore Mohandas joins Ogilvy as ECD
Kishore Mohandas has joined Ogilvy as executive creative director and will be based in Bengaluru. Mohandas moves from MullenLowe Lintas Group, where he was executive creative director. He was with the agency for over 11 years.

5. YouTube Shorts to be launched on television
YouTube has announced that viewers will now be able to watch YouTube Shorts on television screens. Shorts includes videos which are 60 seconds or less.
