1. Republic TV Among 3 Channels Busted For Rigging Ratings

Republic TV is among the three channels being investigated for allegedly gaming ratings and using them to spread fake narratives and gain ad revenues. According to NDTV, the channels allegedly bribed households being metered to keep their channel switched on all the time. Mumbai Police Commissioner, Param Bir Singh said that the accounts of Republic TV and the others could be frozen if it was established that the channels made advertising money using rigged ratings.

Disney+ Hotstar VIP has launched Bengali commentary for IPL matches. According to exchange4media, subscribers of Disney+ Hotstar VIP and Disney+ Hotstar Premium will be able to enjoy all matches of Dream11 IPL 2020 in Bengali from 10 October 2020. Joining the commentators’ box are experts from the field – cricketers Manoj Tiwary, Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Saradindu Mukherjee; and eminent writers Boria Majumdar, Gautam Bhattacharya, Sanjeeb Mukherjea and Debasis Dutta.

6. Paytm Launches Android Mini App Store

Paytm has announced that it aims to support one million apps on its recently launched Android Mini App Store as part of its efforts to support Indian developers and compete against tech giant Google. As per livemint, the company will also invest Rs 10 crore for the app developers on its platform. Paytm said that over 300 app-based service providers have already joined the programme, including Domino’s Pizza, FreshMenu, Ola, and more.
