1. FICCI Announces Uday Shankar As President-Elect For 2020-21

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has announced Uday Shankar as president-elect, for the year 2020-21. As reported by afaqs, he will succeed Sangita Reddy, president, FICCI, and joint managing director, Apollo Hospitals Group. Shankar is the president of The Walt Disney Company for Asia Pacific and the chairman of Star and Disney India. He presently leads Disney’s direct-to-consumer business in more than 30 countries.


2.  Netflix Launches ‘StreamFest’ in India

Netflix is launching ‘StreamFest’ in India, an initiative which allows consumers to sample content on the platform for free this weekend. As per exchange4media, consumers can create an account without any payment info and watch Netflix for free on 5th and 6th December 2020. Netflix has clarified that the StreamFest membership will be offered to a limited consumer base.


3. Visa Appoints Wieden + Kennedy as Global Creative Agency of Record, Publicis To Handle Production Duties

Visa has appointed Wieden + Kennedy as its global creative agency of record, and Publicis Groupe to handle production duties. As per campaign India, Wieden + Kennedy will lead creative strategy and major initiatives. Publicis Groupe will handle media and production, as well as support for hyperlocal work globally. Wieden+Kenendy beat out creative incumbents BBDO, which ran global creative for Visa since 2012. Starcom continues to hold Visa’s media buying account.

4. Disney+Hotstar Collaborates with MediaMath

Disney+ Hotstar has collaborated with MediaMath, a demand-side platform (DSP) that delivers accountable advertising technology for brands to buy addressable media. According to The Economic Times, this association enables advertisers and agencies to measure reach and frequency on Disney+ Hotstar’s programmatic inventory. With this offering, brands can purchase premium inventory on Disney+ Hotstar to reach audiences via a multitude of ad formats that suit their marketing objectives.


5. Nabendhu Bhattacharya Moves On From Milestone Brandcom

Nabendu Bhattacharyya has decided to move on from his current role as CEO and MD of Milestone Brandcom, the India-based OOH specialist agency from the house of Dentsu International. He will leave the business on 31 December 2020, ending his more than 6-year-long-stint with the network, to explore and pursue his personal interests.
