1. Parag Agrawal Becomes New Twitter CEO

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is stepping down as chief of the social media company, effective immediately. Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s chief technology officer, will take over the helm. Dorsey will remain a member of the board until his term expires at the 2022 meeting of stockholders. Agrawal, who’s served as CTO since 2017, has been with Twitter for more than a decade. He had been in charge of strategy involving artificial intelligence and machine learning and he led projects to make tweets in users’ timelines more relevant to them.

2. Intel Appoints Steven A. Long as GM Asia Pacific and Japan
Intel Corporation has appointed Steven A. Long as General Manager of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. Long will be responsible for Intel’s overall business in the APJ region, including driving revenue growth, engaging with the local ecosystem to create new opportunities, and strengthening existing customer and partner relationships. He was most recently global head of sales for Intel’s Client business.

3. Netflix India Elevates Pritish Wesley as Head, Creative Marketing Production
Netflix India has elevated Pritish Wesley as head of creative marketing production. He was previously working as campaign operations manager, where he worked with the marcomm teams to strategise, ideate and produce marketing campaigns for Netflix’s content. Wesley joined the streaming giant in 2018 as marketing creative producer. He has, in the past, worked with agencies like Ogilvy & Mather, DDB Mudra, McCann Erickson and the Mullen Lowe Lintas Group.

4. ZEEL Acquires Broadcast Rights for UAE T20 League
Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (ZEEL) has acquired the broadcast rights for the Emirates Cricket Board’s (ECB) UAE T20 League for a period of 10 years, as reported by exchange4media. The broadcaster will be paying $15 million per year as broadcast rights fee for the league. The total value of the deal works out to $150 million over the 10-year period.

5. WPP Acquires Cloud Commerce Group
WPP has acquired UK-based tech company, Cloud Commerce Group(CCG) that helps brands to market, sell and deliver their products across e-commerce platforms and marketplaces globally. The platform helps brands across the entire commerce journey, connecting customer acquisition and multi-platform commerce, with warehousing, inventory, and fulfilment partners. As noted by exchange4media, this acquisition reflects WPP’s ongoing investment into strengthening its commerce offering for clients.
