Learning company Pearson has appointed Siddharth Banerjee as managing director, India and Asia.  As per campaign India, Banerjee’s mandate is to strengthen Pearson’s direct-to-consumer strategy and digital proposition in the region. He moves from Games24x7, where he was chief revenue and marketing officer.

Madison Media has bagged the media mandate of Birla Corporation’s MP Birla Cement.  The account was won following a multi-agency pitch.  Madison’s Platinum Media’s Kolkata office will handle the ATL responsibilities for the brand.

BharatPe appointed Parth Joshi as the chief marketing officer. According to The Economic Times, Joshi will work closely with Suhail Sameer, BharatePe’s group president. Prior to joining BharatPe, Joshi was the head of marketing– global expansion markets, Reckitt based out of Singapore. He has also held various marketing roles in GSK & L’Oréal.

WhatsApp has appointed Manesh Mahatme to lead the growth of its payments business in India. As part of his new role, Manesh will focus on enhancing the payments experience for users, scaling the service offering and work towards contributing to WhatsApp’s vision of digital and financial inclusion in India. As noted by The Economic Times, he joins WhatsApp from Amazon where he spent close to seven years as director and board member of Amazon Pay India.
