1. Twitter & Facebook Stop Ads amid Russia-Ukraine Conflict
Twitter is putting a temporary hold on advertisements in Ukraine and Russia to ensure the visibility of public safety information. The social network said that it is proactively reviewing tweets to detect “platform manipulation” and is taking “enforcement action” against them. Meanwhile, Facebook is blocking state-run Russian media outlets from advertising and monetizing content on the platform amid the ongoing conflict. The platform has also established a Special Operations Centre to help the network monitor and respond to the developing conflict.

2. Google Launches ‘Play Pass’ to Offer Over 1000 Apps Without Ads
Google has launched a ‘Play Pass’ section in Play store which will offer consumers over 1000 apps and games without advertisements and access to their premium features on a fixed monthly or annual charge. The Play Pass collection will include titles from sports, puzzles, or action games like Jungle Adventures, World Cricket Battle 2, and Monument Valley. Users can get started with a one-month trial and subscribe for Rs 99 per month or Rs 889 for the year.

3. Tech Mahindra Launches TechMVerse
Tech Mahindra has forayed into the metaverse with the launch of TechMVerse, its metaverse practice to deliver interactive and immersive experiences for its customers. The company said that initially, the operations will be spread across four hubs – Dallas, London, Pune, and Hyderabad. Tech Mahindra also plans to hire and train about 1000 people dedicated for the TechMVerse in the first year.
