1.  Air India Handover to Tata Group Delayed by a Month
Tata Group’s takeover of Air India has been delayed by a month, reports The Economic Times. As the procedures are taking longer than expected to be completed, the takeover will likely happen in January 2022. While this will be the first privatization since 2003-04, Air India will be the third airline brand in the Tatas’ stable – it holds a majority interest in AirAsia India and Vistara, a joint venture with Singapore Airlines Ltd.

2. Zoom Acquires Liminal
Zoom has acquired startup Liminal which creates broadcast tools for professional, virtual events. Zoom says that this will help the platform bridge the gap between emerging and traditional forms of event control tools, which should come in handy for broadcast studios, theaters, and other organizations that want to create professional streams. As noted by The Verge, Liminal’s existing tools will remain available through Liminal’s site, however, as Zoom expands on those tools and builds something similar into the platform, there will no longer be a need for them as separate add-ons.

3. Godfrey Phillips India Appoints Sharad Aggarwal as CEO
Godfrey Phillips India has appointed Sharad Aggarwal as Chief Executive Officer. Aggarwal is taking over from Bhisham Wadhera and will be reporting to Godfrey Phillips India President and Managing Director Bina Modi.  Prior to this, Aggarwal was COO at Godfrey Phillips India where he ensured that the company invests in the best international technology, processes and certifications for its state-of-art manufacturing facilities across India.

4. Mohit Jain Elected as INS President
Mohit Jain has been elected President of The Indian Newspaper Society for the year 2021-22. He succeeds L Adimoolam of Health & The Antiseptic. He is currently a board member and Executive Director at Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (Times Group).

5. Ola Names Vaishnavi Ramakrishnan as Director of Communications
Ola has named Vaishnavi Ramakrishnan as Director of Communications. Prior to this, Ramakrishnan was associated with Flipkart as Director – Communications. She has also worked with media houses like ET Now, UTVi, and Times now.
