1. IPG Withdraws 2020 Full-Year Financial Target

Interpublic Group has withdrawn its 2020 full-year financial target amid economic uncertainty. As seen on Campaign India, the company expects to provide more information at the time of its first quarter earnings release, which is scheduled towards the end of April. Chairman and CEO Michael Roth told investors that this is the direct result of the “unknown magnitude and duration” of COVID-19’s impact. He said: “We have multiple cost levers to align expenses with changes in revenue and our operators are executing as appropriate on both the revenue and expense sides.”

2. UK Government Partners With Unilever For Global Handwashing Campaign

The UK government has teamed up with Unilever to fund a global handwashing campaign. As noted by The Drum, the campaign aims to reach up to a billion people in the developing world to help halt the spread of coronavirus. The joint public information campaign will focus on the need for strong personal hygiene and regular disinfection of surfaces, supported by the distribution of 20m products such as soap. This message will be conveyed by TV, radio, print, social and digital media with messages tailored to specific countries across Africa and Asia.

3. Facebook Launches Corona Helpdesk Chatbot

Facebook has launched a Corona helpdesk chatbot on messenger, together with the Ministry of Health and MyGov. This is to raise awareness, provide authentic and accurate information and bust fake news about Corona Virus.  As reported by exchange4media, Facebook users can start accessing the Corona Helpdesk Chatbot and reach out to the Ministry of Health for authentic news, official updates, precautionary measures and more.

4. Grey Group Elevates Yashaswaini Samat as Executive Vice President – P&G leader, AMA

Grey Group has recently elevated Yashaswaini Samat as executive vice president – P&G leader, AMA. She will be based out of Singapore, as per afaqs. Prior to this, Samat was the Chairman and Managing Director at Grey Group, India and has been working with the company for 25 years. An IIM graduate, she has also worked with Lintas group and Rediffusiion group in the past.
