1. McDonald’s Names Morgan Flatley as Global CMO

McDonald’s has promoted Morgan Flatley to global chief marketing officer, effective 1 November 2021.  As per campaign India, she is assuming the role after having served as chief marketing and digital customer experience officer for McDonald’s USA.  As global CMO, Flatley will oversee the global brand, menu strategy, family marketing, media partnerships and customer and business insights.

2. Ruder Finn India Launches ‘RF Thunder’

Ruder Finn India has launched a communications consultancy, RF Thunder, that looks to bring together ‘The Art and Science of Engagement’. RF Thunder will integrate digital, design, and advocacy services with the aim of shaping perceptions and to influence public opinion, by creating meaningful and relevant experiences. Xiaomi has announced that it is dropping ‘Mi’ from its branding. Xiaomi’s product series ‘Mi’ will be renamed to ‘Xiaomi’. According to afaqs, this change will unify the brand’s global brand presence and close the perception gap between the brand and its products.
