1. ITC Calls For Media Review
ITC has called for a media review for mainline media handling and media buying for television, print and outdoor. As per exchange4media, the review is reported to be for ITC Foods & Personal Care and the account size is estimated to be around Rs 600 crore. Wavemaker has been ITC’s Agency on Record (AOR) for mainline media handling and media buying since April 2017. In February 2019, Wavemaker also won the digital mandate for the same.

2. HUL Appoints Nitin Paranjpe as Non-Executive Chairman
Hindustan Unilever has announced the separation of the position of Chairman of the Board and the CEO and Managing Director. The company has appointed Nitin Paranjpe, currently Chief Operating Officer of Unilever as a Non-Executive Chairman of the Company with effect from 31 March 2022. Sanjiv Mehta will continue as the Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director (CEO and MD).

3. Airtel Acquires Strategic Stake in Aqilliz
Bharti Airtel has acquired a strategic stake in blockchain service company Aqilliz under the Airtel Startup Accelerator Program. Aqilliz has developed a patented hybrid blockchain platform, Atom that allows brands to create secure and consent-based solutions to engage with customers in a rapidly evolving digital economy. With this partnership, Airtel aims to deploy Aqilliz’s advanced blockchain technologies at scale across its Adtech (Airtel Ads), Digital Entertainment (Wynk Music and Airtel Xstream) and Digital Marketplace (Airtel Thanks App) offerings.

4. D2H Appoints Rishabh Pant as Brand Ambassador
D2H, the direct-to-home brand of Dish TV India, has appointed Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant as brand ambassador. Pant will feature in the brand’s 360-degree communication for the next two years.   

5. Carat India Appoints Aruni Panda as VP – Digital
Carat India has appointed Aruni Panda as vice president – digital. Panda’s mandate at the agency covers North and East India.  He moves from WPP’s GTB, where he was AVP and senior digital media director, handling digital media planning, buying and execution.
