1. GroupM India Rejigs CTG Leadership

GroupM India has restructured its media buying function – Central Trading Group (CTG). Pratik Rathod who has been leading buying for Wavemaker will be taking on an elevated group-level role of National Broadcast Head, GroupM India. K Srinivas Rao will take over the Wavemaker buying mandate from Rathod. Muralidhar T will now lead buying function for the whole of Mindshare and Rahul Satoskar has been elevated to lead Mediacom buying nationally.

2. Meta Gives Advertisers Brand Safety Controls in the NewsFeed

Meta is giving brands more control over where their ads appear in the NewsFeed.  As reported by campaign India, the company revealed a brand suitability verification tool for advertisers and expanded its topic inclusion controls for brands that advertise in English. The controls, found in the “Ads Preferences” settings tab, will allow advertisers to prevent Facebook from running their ads against three topic categories in the Newsfeed – news and politics, debated social issues and crime and tragedy.

3. McDonald’s India, North-East has appointed Sushmita Kashyap as Director, Marketing

Sushmita Kashyap has joined McDonald’s India, North-East as director, marketing.  She moves from Affiliate Advisory, where she was president and co-founder. As per campaign India, she has previously worked with Burman Hospitality, PizzaExpress, Amira Foods UK, Avon Beauty Products, Dominos Pizza, and Future Group India.

4. Swiggy Launches Upgraded Membership Plan ‘Swiggy One’

Swiggy has launched an upgraded membership program ‘Swiggy One’ that will offer subscribers unlimited free deliveries, discounts and other benefits across its services. With ‘Swiggy One’, the platform will provide other offerings such as pick up and drop service through Swiggy Genie and Meat stores. The program is currently live in four cities – Lucknow, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Vijayawada, and the company is planning to expand it across more than 500 cities in the next two weeks.

5. Audi UK Appoints Tony Moore as Head of Marketing

Audi UK has appointed Tony Moore as its new head of marketing and he will take up the new role from January 2022. Moore will be moving from his current position with the brand as head of product planning. He has more than 25 years of experience with Volkswagen Group, having previously worked in senior roles at Volkswagen Financial Services, Volkswagen Group UK and Audi UK.
