1. Ogilvy Appoints Steve Soechtig To Lead Experience Practice as Global CEO

Ogilvy has hired Steve Soechtig to lead its experience practice as global CEO. As per campaign India, the move comes as clients seek to connect with consumers in personalised ways throughout their journey with a brand.  As global CEO of experience at Ogilvy, Soechtig will be tasked with pulling together various capabilities in specialty practices across Ogilvy’s global network to create a unified offering for clients across marketing automation, strategy, CRM, digital experience design, customer acquisition and loyalty. 

2. ZEE Ropes in Ashok Namboodiri as Chief Business Officer

ZEE Entertainment Enterprises has appointed Ashok Namboodiri as the chief business officer for its international business. As reported by The Economic Times, he will be responsible for leading the teams across the international markets to drive strategic growth. In his previous stint, Namboodiri was associated with Star India (now called Star and Disney India) leading the regional sports business, general entertainment business in the Kannada market and spearheaded the launch of five sports channels.

3. Netflix Tests ‘Shuffle Play’ Feature

Netflix is testing a new feature known as the ‘Shuffle Play’ button. Upon clicking the button, Netflix will play a show based on users’ viewing patterns. According to the leading streaming platform, ‘Shuffle Play’ will roll out globally in the first half of 2021. As per afaqs, the feature is still being tested only on TV devices. It is yet to be introduced on other viewing platforms, such as web or mobile.

4. Amway India Forays into Vegetable & Fruit Category

Amway India has launched a new product called Amway HomeTM Fruit & Veggie Wash. With an aim to cater to the growing need for hygiene care products, Amway has forayed into the vegetable and fruit hygiene space with this launch, reports afaqs. Priced at Rs 249.00 for 500ml, the product can be purchased online and offline through direct retailers and sellers.

5. Naver Acquires Wattpad

South Korean internet conglomerate Naver has acquired social storytelling platform Wattpad in a cash and stock transaction valuing the Toronto-based firm at more than $600 million. As noted by The Economic Times, the acquisition will help to create a stronger ecosystem across visual and textual storytelling content, with a combined reader base of over 160 million monthly users across the world. The deal is expected to close in Q2 of 2021.
