1. IPL Announces CRED As Official Partner

The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) has announced credit card payment app, CRED, as its official partner. As noted by The Economic Times, it is a three-season partnership which will see the association run through till the 2022 season. IPL will be held in the UAE from 19 September 2020.

2. Hyundai Motor India Appoints Tarun Garg To Board Of Directors

Hyundai Motor India has announced the addition of Tarun Garg, director – sales, marketing and service, to its board of directors as whole-time director.  According to campaign India, Garg will hold office for a period of three years, effective 24 August 2020. Garg had joined Hyundai Motor India from Maruti Suzuki India in 2019. Joining him on the board is Ganesh Mani S, director- production, Hyundai Motor India.  

3. Flipkart Launches Digital B2B Marketplace

Flipkart has launched its digital business-to business (B2B) marketplace to take advantage of India’s large consumer base. As reported by livemint, Flipkart Wholesale aims to connect local manufacturers with retailers and bring the wholesale marketplace at their fingertips using technology. The platform is currently available for fashion retailers, especially footwear and apparel, in Gurugram, Delhi and Bengaluru, with plans to expand to Mumbai as well.

TBWA\India has appointed Namrata Nandan and Srijib Mallik as executive directors. As per campaign India, Nandan will head operations in Mumbai while Mallik will be in charge in Delhi.  Mallik moves from Creativeland Asia where he was chief operating officer. Nandan joins TBWA after a stint of running her own agency, Conviction Brandworks.
