1. Michael Roth Retires as IPG Chairman

Michael Roth will be retiring as executive chairman of Interpublic Group, reports campaign UK. The news comes a year after he handed over the chief executive’s responsibilities to Philippe Krakowsky. Roth’s departure marks the formal end of his involvement in the ad industry after nearly two decades. He will leave IPG at the end of 2021.

2. Gucci Owner Kering Appoints iProspect as Global Agency of Record
Kering Group, which owns brands like Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, has appointed iProspect to handle its global media planning and buying account. As the global agency of record, iProspect will be responsible for managing all end-to-end media planning and buying, integrated across brand and performance. iProspect will operate as a media partner across all 42 markets where Kering has a media presence.

3. dentsu Appoints Rohan Philips as President, Global Product, Media
Rohan Philips has been named President, Global Product, Media, dentsu international. Philips takes on the responsibility of developing the 2025 product strategy and roadmap for dentsu clients worldwide. As per medianews4u, he will be based out of Singapore.

4. Flipkart Enters Healthcare Segment
Flipkart is acquiring online pharmacy start-up, SastaSundar to enter the healthcare segment in India. Flipkart said its healthcare vertical will be called Flipkart Health+. As noted by TechCrunch, Amazon India began selling medicines on its marketplace last year while Reliance Retail had acquired the parent firm of Netmeds in 2020 and Tata Digital bought 1mg in June, this year. 

5. Grey Group Appoints Sarah Trombetta as the Chief Client Officer, P&G, AMEA
Grey Group has appointed Sarah Trombetta as the Chief Client Officer, Procter & Gamble, Asia, Middle East & Africa (AMEA). Trombetta will be a part of WPP/Grey’s P&G Global Leadership Team and will be in charge of establishing the strategic direction of the P&G business across key regions. She takes over from Yashaswini Samat.
