1. Amazon Alexa Gets Amitabh Bachchan’s Voice in India

Amazon has rolled out India’s first celebrity voice feature on Alexa with Amitabh Bachchan. Users in India can add Amitabh Bachchan’s voice to their Echo devices or Amazon shopping app for an introductory price of Rs 149 for the first year. As per TechCrunch, Amazon is also applying neural speech technology to make Alexa sound like Bachchan even if there’s no direct pre-recording.

2. Rubeena Singh Quits iProspect, Vinod Thadani Joins as CEO

Rubeena Singh has stepped down as CEO of Dentsu’s iProspect.  She was given a new role earlier in March, when iProspect was globally rechristened as a new digital-first media agency. As per campaign India, Vinod Thadani, has joined as CEO of iProspect and chief digital growth officer at the Dentsu Media Group. Thadani quit his role as chief digital officer, Mindshare – South Asia early this year.  

3. Facebook Launches VR Remote Work App

Facebook launched a test of a new virtual reality (VR) remote work app where users of the company’s Oculus Quest 2 headsets can hold meetings as avatar versions of themselves. The beta test of Facebook’s Horizons Workrooms app comes as many companies continue to work from home after the Covid-19 pandemic shut down physical workspaces. As per The Business Times, Facebook sees this as an early step towards building the futuristic “metaverse”.

4. InMobi Appoints Todd Rose as SVP, Global Business Development

InMobi has appointed Todd Rose as senior vice president of global business development. As part of his new role, Rose will operationalise and accelerate a cohesive data and identity strategy, expand strategic partnerships for clients to better leverage InMobi’s end-to-end advertising solutions. As noted by campaign India, Rose will be based in San Francisco and will report to Abhay Singhal, co-founder, InMobi Group and CEO, InMobi Marketing Cloud.

5. Dentsu India Restructures CXM business, Anubhav Sonthalia leads as CEO

dentsu has launched a unified Merkle-led CXM proposition in the market. The dentsu India CXM business will now house the agencies – Sokrati, Fractal Ink Design Studio and Merkle B2B, under one umbrella. Anubhav Sonthalia will lead dentsu CXM in India as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in addition to serving his current role as CEO, Sokrati.
