1. Nadir Godrej to Take Over as GIL Chairman

Adi Godrej will step down as chairman of Godrej Industries Ltd (GIL) after more than four decades at the helm, as reported by livemint. He will also step down as a director of the company. Nadir Godrej, younger brother of Adi Godrej, and currently managing director of GIL, will take over as chairman and managing director on 1 October 2021.

2. Reddit Launches TikTok-like Video Feed

Reddit is rolling out a new TikTok-like video feed on its iOS app. This feature expands Reddit’s platform from just discussions to short-form videos. According to TechCrunch, Reddit is signaling a growing curiosity in short form video. In December 2020, the company had acquired TikTok’s competitor Dubsmash.

3. MX Player Launches MX Gold

MX Player is launching a subscription service called MX Gold. As per exchange4media, MX Gold will be available for a subscription of less than Rs 1/day. The service is currently available on Android. It will be spearheaded by Abhishek Joshi, Business Head — SVOD (subscription business).


4. MediaCom Indonesia Appoints Soumak Banik as MD

MediaCom Indonesia has appointed Soumak Banik as the Managing Director, according to exchange4media. Banik will take over from Partha Kabi who recently took on the global account director role at MediaCom for SK-II. Banik will report to GroupM Indonesia CEO Himanshu Shekhar and Mark Heap, CEO, MediaCom Asia Pacific.
