1. TPG Capital & L. Catterton To Invest In Jio Platforms

California-based TPG Capital and Greenwich-headquartered L. Catterton have announced that they will invest Rs 4,546.80 crore and Rs 1,894.50 crore respectively in Jio Platforms at an equity value of ₹4.91 trillion and an enterprise value of ₹5.16 trillion. As noted by livemint, the investments will translate into a 0.93% stake for TPG and a 0.39% stake for L. Catterton in Jio Platforms. With these investments, Jio Platforms has so far raised Rs 1.04 lakh crore and sold 22.38% stake.

2. Samir Bangara Passes Away In A Road Accident

Samir Bangara, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Qyuki Digital Media, passed away in a road accident yesterday, as reported by exchange4media. In 2013, Bangara co-founded Qyuki with Shekhar Kapur and AR Rahman. He is survived by his wife and two teenage children.


3. ICC Appoints Ketaki Golatkar As Lead, Media and Communications

International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed Ketaki Golatkar as Lead, Media and Communications. According to exchange4media, Golatkar will helm the communication and media outreach for the council. Prior to this, she was working for Star India as Lead, Public Relations and Marketing Communications for Star Sports Network.

5. ByteDance Shuts Down Vigo Video

ByteDance has decided to shut down its short video app, Vigo Video in India by October-end 2020. As mentioned by exchange4media, the company has already ended operations in Brazil and the Middle East. In a post, Vigo Video said that users have the option to export their content on to TikTok. They will also be given detailed instructions on downloading their personal data or deleting their videos, chat history and account permanently.
