1. Philips Calls $300m Global Review

Philips is putting its $300 million global integrated account up for bid. According to campaign live, the company is reviewing creative, media and communications globally, and has invited four major holding companies to participate. This includes Interpublic Group, Dentsu and WPP. Carat has held a significant portion of Philips’ media business, and is defending the account. WPP’s Wavemaker also has a small piece of the digital media business.  WPP’s Ogilvy has worked on Philips’ creative account since 2011.

2. Cannes Lions to Happen In-Person Between 21-25 June 2021

Cannes Lions has announced plans for this year’s International Festival of Creativity to take place at an in-person event in June. As reported by campaign India, the event is scheduled from 21-25 June 2021. This year’s Cannes Lions awards will cover two years of work, in light of the postponement of last year’s event. In general, work released between March 2019 and April 2021 will be eligible for the awards.

3. WPP appoints McCann Worldgroup’s Rob Reilly as Global Chief Creative Officer

McCann Worldgroup creative chairman Rob Reilly is leaving the network to join WPP as global chief creative officer.  As per campaign India, McCann chairman and CEO Bill Kolb announced the news to staff in a memo today. At WPP, he will assume a newly created role of global chief creative officer and report directly to CEO Mark Read.

4. Guardian Media Group Appoints Claire Blunt as Chief Advertising Officer & CEO, International

Guardian Media Group has appointed Claire Blunt as chief advertising officer and chief executive of international, with commercial responsibility for its global advertising business, Guardian US, Guardian Australia and Guardian Jobs. Prior to this, Blunt was chief financial, operations and data officer at Hearst Europe since January 2020. As noted by campaign live, she will join GMG on 1 March 2021.

5. Havas Life Sorento Appoints Arunima Singh as VP, Digital

Havas Life Sorento has appointed Arunima Singh as Vice President Digital. As noted by exchange4media, her appointment is in line with boosting the digital capabilities for the agency. In this new role, Arunima will drive health digital & technology vision and strategy for Havas Life Sorento. She will be based in Mumbai.
