1. Nicola Mendelsohn Named Global Advertising Chief, Facebook

Facebook has promoted Nicola Mendelsohn to the role of global advertising chief. Prior to this, she was Facebook’s VP for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As per campaign UK, the new role makes Mendelsohn the top global ad exec at Facebook, responsible for steering client relationships for the platform.

2. Shubhranshu Singh, Joins Tata Motors as VP and Head, Marketing

Shubhranshu Singh, former global head of marketing at Royal Enfield, has joined Tata Motors as vice-president and head of marketing. As per exchange4media, Singh was with Royal Enfield for over three years. In the past, he has also led marketing at Visa, Star Sports and across several roles in Hindustan Unilever.

3. Omnicom Bags Chanel’s Global Media Account

Chanel has awarded its global media-buying account to Omnicom after a competitive pitch. According to campaign UK, Omnicom and WPP were the main contenders in the battle for the brand’s media account. WPP previously had the business, which is estimated to be worth approximately $400 million, for over two decades.

4. Priti Murthy Named President, GroupM Services India

GroupM India has appointed Priti Murthy as president, GroupM Services India. As per exchange4media, she moves from OMD where she was CEO. At GroupM, Murthy will be leading the centre of delivery excellence that comprises biddable, non-biddable, analytics and reporting.

5. Dentsu International Elevates Michael Komasinski as Global CEO

Dentsu International has promoted Michael Komasinski to the role of Global Chief Executive Officer. Komasinski will lead Merkle, one of dentsu’s six leadership brands, reporting to Wendy Clark and will join dentsu international’s executive team. He will commence his new role on 1 January 2022.

6. John McGarry, Co-founder of Mcgarrybowen, Dies

John McGarry, founder of McGarryBowen and advertising veteran passed away on 8 October 2021 at the age of 81. As reported by campaign UK, he was suffering from Parkinson’s disease. McGarryBowen was acquired by Dentsu in 2008 and in 2012, McGarry became an executive advisor for Dentsu Group. He was in this position for about two years before stepping down.
