1. OMD India appoints Anisha Iyer as CEO

Omnicom Media Group has appointed Anisha Iyer as chief executive officer of its media network OMD in India effective January 2022. Iyer joined the group in 2019 as managing director for OMD in Malaysia. She replaces Priti Murthy who joined GroupM Services India as president. 

2. Nike to Kick Off $1 Billion Global Media Review

Nike is set to kick off a global media review. According to Campaign US, roughly $1 billion in spend is up for grabs. At the moment, WPP-owned Mindshare handles traditional planning and buying in Europe and other markets. Stagwell-owned Assembly holds pieces of the business in Europe and Asia, and Hakohodo has the business in Japan. In the US, longtime creative partner Wieden+Kennedy is Nike’s primary media agency.

3. Wieden+Kennedy’s Colleen DeCourcy to Retire from Advertising

Wieden+Kennedy’s Global Chief Creative Officer and President Colleen DeCourcy has announced that she will be retiring from advertising. As reported by Branding in Asia, DeCourcy had joined Wieden+Kennedy in January 2013 after leading agencies such as TBWA and Organic. During her tenure, Wieden+Kennedy produced work that not only impacted the consumer and marketing world but also crossed boundaries into the political scene for its founding client, sportswear brand giant, Nike.

4. VMLY&R Appoints Rajshekar Patil as ECD

VMLY&R has appointed Rajshekar Patil as executive creative director. Patil moves from Publicis Worldwide India where he was ECD. At VMLY&R, he will oversee the creative capabilities of the agency. His mandate is to also create a culture of creativity, inclusiveness, and innovation.

5. Ruchica Tomar Joins Uber as Head, Communications

Ruchica Tomar has joined Uber as its Head of Communications. She will be leading the team for India and South Asia. Tomar’s previous stint was with MakeMyTrip as Vice President – PR and Communications where she worked for more than 3 years.
