1. Milagrow Robots Founder Rajeev Karwal Passes Away Due to Covid-19

Rajeev Karwal, founder Chairman of Milagrow Robots, passed away today due to Covid-19. Karwal was known for his contribution to the Indian electronics and technology space. He was known for his brand-building efforts at LG, ONIDA, Philips and Electrolux. He was VP of Sales and Marketing at LG Corp and president and CEO of Reliance Digital. Karwal founded Milagrow in 2007 and by 2012, the company transitioned to making robots for residential and industrial use.

2. Mediabrands Content Studio Signs Global Deal with Vice Media

Mediabrands Content Studio (MBCS), the content arm of media agency IPG Mediabrands, announced that it has signed a global creative and content production partnership with independent media company Vice Media Group (VMG). Effective immediately, VMG will make its entire suite of global production content capabilities and creator teams available to Mediabrands’ agencies and clients worldwide, including India. As reported by livemint, this is the first global deal of Mediabrands Content Studio which was launched in November 2020.


3. Mercedes-Benz India Appoints Pradeep Srinivas as Head, Marketing & Customer Services

Mercedes-Benz India has roped in Pradeep Srinivas as head of the marketing and customer services, replacing the incumbent Amit Thete. Srinivas will be taking the responsibility of marketing and customer journey from 17 May 2021, reports The Economic Times.  He will be responsible for managing Mercedes-Benz India’s Vehicle Preparation Centre (VPC), outbound logistics and dealer stock management.

4. Uday Shankar Teams up with James Murdoch for New Venture

Former chairman and chief executive officer of Star India and president of Walt Disney APAC, Uday Shankar has teamed up with Lupa Systems founder and CEO James Murdoch to float a blank check company, Seven Islands Inc that is looking to raise $300-345 million in an initial public offering (IPO). According to The Economic Times, the Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) plans to target the media, entertainment, consumer technology, healthcare, and education industries in South and Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on India.

5. MediaCom Appoints Nancy Lengthorn as Global Chief Inclusion & Culture Officer

MediaCom has appointed Nancy Lengthorn as its first-ever global chief inclusion and culture officer. As per campaign India, Lengthorn will become responsible for sharing existing diversity and inclusion schemes across the former’s worldwide network, as well as conceiving new initiatives. She is currently head of inclusion and belonging at MediaCom UK and WPP.
