1. FCB Ulka’s Anil Kapoor Passes Away

Anil Kapoor, Chairman Emeritus at DraftFCB+ Ulka, has passed away. As per exchange4media, Kapoor had been battling cancer for a long time. He was former Managing Director & CEO, FCB-Ulka Group. Among the many achievements of Kapoor, he was appointed as a member of the FCB Worldwide (Foote, Cone & Belding) Board, New York in August 2019, thus becoming the first Indian advertising agency head to be a part of the apex worldwide board.

2. Twitter Launches ‘Spaces’, Partners with IPL Teams

Twitter has launched its audio chat rooms feature ‘Spaces’, which will soon be rolled out in desktop browsers. Spaces will allow people to come together to have live audio conversations about things that they’re passionate about, or just gather in an intimate environment to chat. According to The Economic Times, Twitter has partnered with IPL teams to connect with and engage fans on the service. Mumbai Indians recently hosted a Twitter Space with Zaheer Khan, becoming the first sports club in the country to do so.

3. Mars Inc Named Vice Chair, Unstereotype Alliance

Mars Inc. has been elevated to vice chair of the Unstereotype Alliance, an effort it co-founded in 2017 with Unilever and UN Women to remove harmful stereotypes from advertising and marketing.  The company will be represented by Fiona Dawson, global president of Mars food, multi sales and global customers.  As per campaign India, the Unstereotype Alliance was founded after a 2017 report by the Geena Davis Institute and J. Walter Thompson analyzed 2,000 films from the Cannes Lions archives and found rampant gender bias in advertising and marketing messages.
