Cheil India has appointed Sourav Ray as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). He will advance the integrated planning and strategy for the company. Sourav is being promoted internally and will be succeeding Atika Malik with immediate effect. As per exchange4media, he has previously been associated with agencies like Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, Bates 141 and Havas Worldwide.

2. McDonald’s To Sue Former CEO Steve Easterbook Amid Claims Of Inappropriate Relationships With Employees  

McDonald’s said that it will sue its former CEO Steve Easterbrook for lying about allegedly inappropriate sexual relationships with employees, according to CNBC. Easterbrook was dismissed from service in November 2019 over his “poor judgment” in engaging in a consensual relationship with a member of staff in violation of company policy. McDonald’s has subsequently learned that Easterbrook lied “and destroyed information regarding inappropriate personal behavior” and relationships with three other employees. The fast-food company now wants to recover compensation and severance benefits paid to the executive under the terms of his departure last year.

Old Spice India has appointed Kinnect to handle its digital creative mandate. As noted by The Economic Times, the agency will be responsible for driving the brand’s digital strategy and creative efforts. The mandate shoulders Kinnect with the responsibility of carving a social media roadmap for the brand in India. This will include strategic positioning, content creation, and re-launching the brand on digital platforms.

Forest Essentials has awarded its digital mandate to ET Medialabs. As reported by exchange4media, the agency has created two teams to meet its mandate. One group will manage SEO for its new client while the second will be responsible for performance marketing and affiliate management.

Sheetal Pritmani Mukherjee, former general manager and head of agency, Havas Riverorchid, has launched her digital-first communication agency, Grip Digi. According to a note shared with campaign India, Grip Digi will provide digital first brand solutions using proprietary tools to integrate technology, real time measurement and creativity. It will have offices in India and Myanmar along with one in South East Asia.  Prior to her move to Myanmar, Mukherjee was with Ogilvy Mumbai as director of account services.
