1. Cannes Lions Launches New Creative B2B Lion
Cannes Lions has announced changes to the 2022 Awards which include the launch of the Creative B2B Lion and an evolved Creative Commerce Lion. As noted by exchange4media, the newly launched Creative B2B Lion will celebrate game-changing creativity and effectiveness in work for products and services that are purchased by professionals on behalf of businesses. The awards will open for entries on 20 January 2022 with judging and awarding taking place in Cannes in June.

2. Dentsu International Appoints Alex Hesz as Global Chief Strategy Officer
Dentsu International has hired Alex Hesz as global chief strategy officer, with a dual role overseeing strategy for clients and corporate strategy for the agency group. Hesz, who spent a decade at Adam&Eve/DDB and the global DDB network, will work across Dentsu International’s three main disciplines: media, creative and customer experience management (CXM). Campaign UK notes that Wendy Clark, global chief executive of Dentsu International since September 2020, was previously global chief executive of DDB for four years.

3. Ogilvy Consulting Launches Sustainability Practice with Andy Wilson as Head
Andy Wilson, former regional strategy head at BBDO, is joining Ogilvy Consulting Asia as the leader of a new sustainability practice. As senior partner, sustainability, Wilson will report to Jerry Smith, CEO of Ogilvy Consulting Asia. As per campaign India, the sustainability practice will aim to help clients shape sustainability priorities and solutions, focusing on “Asia’s myriad pressing environmental, social, and inclusion issues”.

4. YouTube Requires News Publishers to Furnish Details of Accounts to MIB
YouTube now requires Indian news publishers to furnish the details of their accounts on YouTube to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB). YouTube said it is providing more transparency about how it develops, improves, and updates its service. As reported by exchange4media, the violation of the updated policy will result in warnings or loss of access or termination of account.

Viacom18 Media has appointed Mallika Petkar as Senior Vice President – Strategy, Sports, as per exchange4media. She was previously SMB Growth Strategy & Inside Sales at Disney+ Hotstar Head. Petkar had worked with Star India for more than a decade in various roles primarily in sports and OTT domains.
