  1. Google extends shopping ads to YouTube

Google is introducing shopping ads to YouTube’s home feed and within search results to extend the reach of advertisers’ shopping campaigns on the platform. YouTube viewers will now be able to see these interactive visual shopping ads based on their interests and with actionable information like store location etc. Around 30 advertisers including Puma have tested this new feature and saw a 23 per increase in conversions as claimed by the video search engine.

2. Reliance Brands hires Sumeet Yadav to head Hamleys

After acquiring Hamleys, Reliance Brands has hired Sumeet Yadav to head the global business of the toy company out of London, as reported by Economic Times. Prior to this, Yadav was CEO of Nando’s, the South African restaurant chain in India. This is his second stint with Reliance Brands.

3. After Motorola Nokia to enter into smart TV category via Flipkart

After Motorola, Nokia is now foraying into the smart TV segment as it partners with Flipkart for the same. However, it hasn’t given any information on the product specifications, pricing and launch date.

4. iProspect’s Ruth Stubbs resigns, to join Wavemaker

Ruth Stubbs, the Singapore-based global president of iProspect, departs to lead the EMEA operations of Wavemaker. She had held the role since October 2016. She will join Wavemaker in early 2020 in London.
